Elderly Woman Mistreated At Nursing Home - Cruel definitely

This news caught my attention & I decided to include the article below. Source:
http://sg.news.yahoo.com/blogs/singaporescene/elderly-woman-mistreated-nursing-home-174803277.html

A nursing home along Braddell Road has been suspended with effect from 12 April from admitting new patients after a patient was reported to have been mistreated.

The incident at Nightingale Nursing Home came to light after a video of a patient being mistreated was sent to local broadcaster Mediacorp.

The footage was shot by a hidden camera on a patient's bedside. In the video, an elderly woman patient is seen sitting stark naked beside a bed with the room ceiling fans on.

She is then picked up by two hospital staff and thrown onto a bed, before a staff is shown slapping her on her mouth when she wailed in pain.

Watch what happened here.

Below are my personal remarks:
It's in Mandarin so I definitely don't understand a word that the narrator is saying. But action speaks louder than words! The nurses are totally cruel & heartless. How can you even imagine of treating an elderly that way? Don't be a nurse if you can't even care for others.

Remember what goes comes around. Everyone will be old one day. We definitely doesn't want to be treated that way when we are at that stage of life. Terrible people. My personal remarks/opinions ends here.

Continued from the article:
Reports say the patient has been a resident there for four years and is suffering from stroke.

According to Channel NewsAsia, the nursing home has disciplined the staff involved in the mistreatment case. The home also added that they've introduced additional measures such as checking the conduct of its staff and getting their senior staff to do the rounds.

The elderly woman's son was upset with the incident. He said, "We sent her there for the nurses to take care of her; we're disappointed with what happened."

The elderly woman has been moved to another nursing home.

Netizens were unhappy with the mistreatment of the elderly woman.

nivek001 said, "How can anyone be so heartless. It just breaks my heart to see the video. I really hope that there will be justice. What goes around, comes around. Will some people in the right places do something about it?"

Others were concerned if other patients at the home were treated the same way.

"It really leaves a lot of room for us to wonder what kind of treatment/abuse the other elderly patients in the home have been subjected to as well," said Amber^^ on hardwarezone's forum.

Series Of Flash Floods In Singapore

Series Of Flash Floods In Singapore: 2010 & 2011

A Reminder to myself regarding the series of flash floods that hits Singapore. An article from a site included below. This is another part of my "postpone" entries among the rest of "uncomplete" ones. Quite a few left remaining for me to post.

The 2010-2011 Singapore floods were a series of flash floods that hit various areas in Singapore. The floods were due to having a higher than average rainfall. The death toll in the city state stands at three people. One victim died when a tree fell on a public bus injuring another two people. The other victim died on 20 July after a storm brought down a tree on the victim's car, killing him instantly.

Heavy rains caused flooding in Singapore's central shopping district and snarled traffic throughout the island. Shopping Malls along Orchard Road like Lucky Plaza and Liat Towers were affected by the flood.

The flood had caused some shopping mall and car park basements to be submerged in the water. Rescuers had to pull out about 70 passengers from cars and buses, as flooding shut down Orchard Road, which is lined with high-end shopping malls and tourist attractions. No one was injured.

According to the Public Utilities Board (PUB), about 4 inches (100 millimeters) of rain fell in two hours Wednesday morning, equivalent to around 60 percent of the average monthly rainfall for June. Water rose above the tyres of stalled cars on Orchard.

On 18 June, the PUB, in a press conference, revealed its findings that the drainage system under Orchard Road, the Stamford Canal, was choked. The culvert, which was to drain water into two parallel channels, had one of the channels choked with debris, and water flowed through only one channel.

When a second rainstorm on the same morning came, the canal, unable to drain off excess water, overflowed and gushed water up to the surface and caused the flooding.

To prevent future floods, PUB spent $25,000 to install five debris-trapping grates at Stamford Canal. These zig-zag grates are meant to catch debris without stopping the flow of water, thus preventing the canal from being choked again. The new grates are installed at Camp Road, Napier Road near Minden Road, Nassim Road, Grange Road and Tanglin Road.

A torrential downpour early Friday morning triggered flash floods across the island. Areas like Upper Thomson Road, Bugis and Jalan Boon Lay were the hardest hit. Heavy rain was also reported in Changi, Eunos, Jurong East, Tampines and Sims Avenue.

The flood also caused morning rush hour traffic to come to a virtual standstill on all major expressways in Singapore.

Dissipating within a half-hour, however, this flood was short-lived, as compared to the earlier flooding of Orchard Road.

Social media and micro-blogging sites such as Facebook and Twitter were awash with flood photos and users exchanging pictures.

It was reported that the heavy downpour on Friday Morning was equivalent to about 60 percent of the average monthly rainfall for June.

Thursday, 1 July 2010

Heavy rain caused flooding at Paya Lebar and other parts of Singapore. The hardest hit areas were MacPherson Road and Upper Paya Lebar (known as Tai Seng). The flood caused traffic jams throughout the area of Paya Lebar

Saturday, 17 July 2010

A torrential downpour, partially caused by Typhoon Conson, in the early hours of Saturday morning triggered flash floods in various parts of Singapore. Among the hardest hit areas were Braddell Road, Joo Chiat Terrace, Changi Road, Bukit Timah and Delfi in Orchard Road. It was the second time in serveral months where heavy rain had caused inconveniences to motorists and resulted in severe flooding.

Most of the floods in low-lying areas managed to recede at around 1pm

Wednesday, 8 Sep 2010

Shenton Way was hit by a flash flood at 10.30am which lasted around 15 minutes. Little India was flooded for three hours. A tree, due to the bad weather, was brough down, hitting a van driving along Lorong 23 Geylang

Tuesday, 16 Nov 2010

At about 3.30pm, Commonwealth Ave and Holland Drive were hit by flash floods and vehicles had to slow down as the flood partially submerged the tyres of the vehicles. As a result, there was a traffic jam along the junction, but normal flow was restored about 5 minutes later.

2011

Sunday, 30 January 2011 and Monday, 31 January 2011

Continuous heavy rainfall since Sunday drenched most of the island, causing flash floods in at least five areas, mostly in the east. Flash floods were reported on the Tampines Expressway slip road at Tampines Avenue 12 and near the Punggol exit, Airport Boulevard, one stretch of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and Changi Village.

Localised chokes in the drainage along Airport Boulevard, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 and in Changi Village were blamed for the floods. Lanes along Airport Boulevard and at the junction of Tampines avenues 9 and 12 had to be closed for one to two hours.

The eastern area around Changi and Pulau Ubin received the highest rainfall. As at 7.50pm 30 January, 200.8mm of rain had pelted down on Pulau Ubin, and 178mm in Changi

Wednesday, 4 May 2011

Heavy rain caused flash floods in several areas including Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and Bishan Street 13. About 90mm of rain fell in less than an hour from 3pm, said the Public Utilities Board (PUB). The floods subsided in about 20 minutes.

Wednesday, 1 June 2011

Torrential rain caused flooding at the junction of Novena Square, a tree to fall elsewhere and claimed the life of one victim when a boy fell into a swollen drain along Whampoa.

Despite the drain being guarded by a railing, the boy is believed to have stepped through a break in the railing at the flooded junction of Martaban Road and Minbu Road. He fell into the submerged drain, which is about 1.2m deep. The strong currents swept the boy away, causing him to drown.

Sunday, 5 June 2011

A torrential downpour that lasted several hours early on Sunday morning triggered flash floods across several parts of the island. Senett Estate, Potong Pasir, MacPherson, Toa Payoh, Bukit Timah and Orchard were the areas hardest hit by the floods.

Tanglin Mall, Forum Galleria and Traders Hotel were affected by the flood and partially flooded. St Regis Residences had its basement carparks flooded as well.[15] Previous flood affected shopping malls in June 2010, Lucky Plaza and Liat Towers were not affected as flood barriers were activated at the start of the downpour although some shops were still partially affected.

Tanglin Mall and St Regis did not receive flood alerts from the PUB which was due to a technical glitch in the flood alert software, which PUB will rectify. PUB also explained the flooding to the buildings are due to an heavy rainfall directly into the basements and the buildings' internal drainage pumps unable to cope with the huge amount of water.

An exract from an article below:

SINGAPORE - Intense and heavy rain on Sunday morning resulted in flash floods in various parts of Singapore.

Callers to the MediaCorp hotline reported flooding in areas such as Cuscaden Road, Hillcrest Road, Eng Neo Avenue, Sennett Estate near Potong Pasir, MacPherson, Toa Payoh, and Balestier.

They also reported fallen trees caused by the downpour and gusty wind.

Parts of Orchard Road were also reported to be affected by flooding, especially along the stretch of Tanglin Mall.

Two lanes along Bukit Timah Road and the slip road of the Kranji Expressway towards Woodlands were impassable to traffic.

National water agency PUB said various areas in the central and western parts of Singapore were hit by flooding. It advised the public to be careful on these roads.

Drivers were advised to avoid these roads.

In a statement at 12.15pm, PUB said the flash floods reported earlier along Bukit Timah Road (the stretch from Blackmore Road to Maplewood Road) and Dunearn Road (from Rifle Range Road to Yarwood Road) as well as at Orchard Road (Cuscaden Road - at the Tanglin/Tomlinson Road junction and Tanglin/Napir Road junction) had subsided.

These roads are now passable to traffic.

In Bukit Timah, the management committee of Tessarina condominium told MediaCorp that residents were alerted by a siren on Sunday morning when the Bukit Timah canal burst its banks.

Many drove their cars out of the basement to higher grounds. The flood barrier at the condominium was also activated as a preventive measure.

The condominium was one of the places badly affected by previous floods.

^^ T-I-R-E-D ^^

I'm tired.... I felt so exhausted. Perhaps due to the deprive of sleep that I've been through yesterday night & recently. I slept for a few hours & stay awake the whole day. Right now I kinda feel sleepy but still thinking of updating my blog with perhaps the shortest post ever. Hoping that after this, I might be able to have a good night sleep.

Honestly speaking, my back's hurts. I can even start to feel that my entire body is aching all over. A good night sleep is all that I need. Hopefully this aching pain shall go away soon. The sooner the better. I need to build up on my stamina. A little bit of walking around had caused me to be exhausted. Stamina deteriorated long ago since I stop exercising many years ago.

I'm ending this for now. Till the next time. Adios!

June..... My Guilt

It's already June. Half the year had past. Ermmm...Time flies real quick. Sometimes I just couldn't imagine half the year had already gone. There's so many things yet to be accomplish. Been busy lately. Trying to keep up with those uncomplete things. I need to improve on my organisation skills. Time management is tough.

I have yet to arrange for a meet up with my "long time" friend. Couldn't find the perfect time. Despite being unemploy, even my weekdays are almost taken. Sorry babe. I knew I said to arrange for meet up  a.s.a.p but I can't find the right time. Hopefully by July, I can meet up with you. I feel guilty if didn't keep up with what was plan. (Despite the person I'm refering to never knew about the presence of my blog, I still leave a msg for her)

In about 8-weeks time, it will be the start of Ramadhan(fasting month). Yet, I still have about a week of fasting to cover up. By hook or by crook, by July, I need to complete all the uncomplete "fasting" that was left last year. I need to be consistent this time round.  I look at the calander, 1st August - day 1 of Ramadhan. 30 Aug - Hari Raya Aidilfitri. This year the fasting days is only 29-days unlike the usual 30-days of fasting.

I'll end this for now. There's still some pending post to be publish & complete. I have no idea when I'll be able to publish them. Perhaps one day, everything shall be completed. Adios readers....

May Final Day

Today's goina be the last & final day in May. I hate to say this but I have to, Goodbye MAY. This month bring about a significant & special day in my life. Lastly, May also marks a sad day in my life that I shall never forget for the rest of my life.

It's special bcos this is the month that I landed on earth. Secondly, it's a Mother's Day. Lastly, it bring about  a sad memories in my life after the passing of my beloved birth mum 2yrs ago.

5th month of the year will soon made it exit & new month will make it's entrance. Let's welcome June that shall make it's entrance by 12midnight later. June - 6th month of the year will appear in a matter of hours.  I hate goodbye but every beginning will come to an end.

Why I'm making an attempt to write as frequent as possible for this year? The answer is simple. I may not know if I'm able to continue writing the next year & the following year. We never know what will happen next. As long as I have the opportunity to write, I'll make full use of it & try to seize it.

Even if I have to squeeze in some time in the middle of the night to complete this entry that I shall post & publish later this afternoon. I'm happy to do it. I won't mind doing something that I enjoy even during the "wee hours".  I prepare my write up earlier in advance so that I don't have to spent long hours while logging in blogspot. I'll just paste this later.

As I've mentioned before, I find joy in writing. Whatever critics I might be getting, it doesn't matter to me. I'm not a professional writer, so please excuse me for any errors in language or grammar. I'm just letting out my emotions in my writings with a spontaneous thoughts.

Honestly, at first thought, who will ever came across my blog & will anyone even bother to read it? But my purpose of writing is a way to express my emotions and not being "discovered" or letting my blog became "popular" etc.

I think I still have some pending post but shall only update them when I had the time.

Let's get back to the "3 Events In My Life" that happens in May. My birthday was not celebrated this year. My birthday cake is given to me few days after my birthday. No celebration on the actual day. But this year is special as I'm a year older. 22 is a nice number. I'm becoming a little weiser than before. I emphasise more on positivity thinking. I learn to smile more and appreciate life. I try to live life as if it will end tomorow. I'm learning to be more independent.

Mother's day is special to all mothers out there. A sacrifice made between life and death while trying to deliver a baby trully a big sacrifice done by a woman. Motherly love is beyond words.

Finally is the passing of my birth mum. It seems I just met her yesterday. But I learnt that every beginning will come to an end. I learnt to "let go" my sadness. I believe that memories stays forever even though they may no longer be around.

That's it for now. Final post for May. Till the next time. Goodbye May :-(

Royal Wedding of the 2 Generations - Images

I'll start to put up the pics for 2011 Royal Wedding followed by Princess Diana Wedding pics. Pictures obtained from "google" images search engine. My apologies, I can't remember the exact site they are from. I randomly select them from Google Images.

William & Kate Wedding - 29 April 2011:

The Invitation

Royal Wedding 29 July 1981 - Charles & Diana

Princess Diana is the most gorgeous princess ever. Not to compare between Kate & Diana but I think majority will agree that Diana beauty outshine the most. Just look at the above pic. Love that smile.

Charles & Diana are 13 years apart. Diana was only 20 when she got married with the 33 year old prince.

This is another part of my postpone entries. I complete this in June 13 but since I had saved it in drafts to published this post in May, I'll just use the date that I had planned to start writing.

Royal Wedding - A Fairy Tale

An extract from:

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wedding_of_Prince_William_and_Catherine_Middleton

Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton:

The wedding of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine Middleton took place on 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London. Prince William, second in the line of succession to Queen Elizabeth II, first met Catherine Middleton in 2001, when both were studying at the University of St Andrews. Their engagement on 20 October 2010 was announced on 16 November 2010.

The build-up to the wedding and the occasion itself attracted much media attention, with the service being broadcast live around the world, and being compared and contrasted in many ways with the 1981 marriage of William's parents, Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales. Estimates of the global audience for the wedding range from 300 million to two billion people, although the verifiable global audience was 161 million viewers drawing from 47% of the world's population, whilst 24.5 million watched the event live in the United Kingdom.

Much of the attention focused on Kate Middleton's status as a commoner (i.e. not a part of the aristocracy) marrying into royalty. Hours before the service, the Queen conferred the titles Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn, and Baron Carrickfergus upon William. Upon her marriage, Middleton therefore became Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge.

As Prince William was not the heir apparent to the throne, the wedding was not a full state occasion and many details were left to the couple to decide, such as much of the guest list of about 1,900. It was a public holiday in the United Kingdom and featured many ceremonial aspects, including use of the state carriages and roles for the Foot Guards and Household Cavalry. It was attended by most of the Royal Family, as well as many foreign royals, diplomats, and the couple's chosen personal guests.

Middleton wore a white dress with a 270-centimetre (110 in) train, by British designer Sarah Burton, as well as a tiara lent to her by the Queen.

Prince William wore the uniform of his honorary rank of Colonel of the Irish Guards. William's best man was his brother, Prince Harry, while the bride's sister, Pippa, acted as her maid of honour.

After the ceremony, the newly married couple travelled in procession to Buckingham Palace for the traditional appearance on the balcony and a flypast before crowds assembled in The Mall. Later the Prince drove his Duchess the short distance to Clarence House in his father's classic Aston Martin DB6 Volante, decorated by Prince Harry and James Middleton[citation needed] with a number plate "JU5T WED".

Following the wedding, the couple intend to continue living on Anglesey in North Wales, where Prince William is based as an RAF Search and Rescue. pilot.

Prince William is the elder son of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Diana, Princess of Wales, and grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. As such, he is second, behind his father, in the line of succession to the throne in 16 independent states known as the Commonwealth realms.

William was educated at Ludgrove School, Eton College, and the University of St Andrews, after which he was commissioned as an officer from Sandhurst in the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry. He later transferred to the RAF and went on to become a full-time pilot with the Search and Rescue Force at RAF Valley, Anglesey.

Catherine "Kate" Middleton is the eldest of three children born to Michael and Carole Middleton. She was educated at St Andrew's School in Pangbourne, Marlborough College, and the University of St Andrews.

After graduating, she worked in retail and then as an accessories buyer/catalogue photographer at her parents' business. She is primarily of English descent, but with a few distant Scottish and French Huguenot ancestors. Her paternal family came from Leeds, West Yorkshire, while her mother's maternal family, the Harrisons, were working-class labourers and miners from County Durham.

The couple met while undergraduates at the University of St Andrews, where they both lived at St Salvator's Hall during their first year, after which they shared accommodation in the town for two years.

In a study of the ancestry of Catherine, William Addams Reitwiesner uncovered that she shares ancestors with Prince William; the closest relationship is via a common descent from Sir Thomas Fairfax and his wife Agnes Gascoigne, daughter of Sir William Gascoigne and his wife, née Lady Margaret Percy, making William and Catherine fifteenth cousins.

Engagement announcement:
On 16 November 2010, Clarence House announced that Prince William, elder son of the Prince of Wales, was to marry his long-time girlfriend Catherine Middleton "in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London". They were engaged in October 2010 while on a private holiday in Kenya; William gave Middleton the same engagement ring that his father had given to William's mother, Diana, Princess of Wales —an 18-carat white gold ring with a 12-carat oval sapphire and 14 round diamonds.

It was announced at approximately the same time that, after their marriage, the couple will live on the Isle of Anglesey in Wales, where Prince William is based with the Royal Air Force.

The original engagement announcement stated that the wedding would be "in the spring or summer of 2011". On 23 November 2010 the date of Friday 29 April 2011 was confirmed. It was later announced that the day will be declared a public holiday throughout the United Kingdom.

Planning:

On 23 November 2010, Clarence House announced the date for the wedding as 29 April 2011 (Feast Day of Saint Catherine of Siena) and the venue as Westminster Abbey.

St James's Palace announced on 5 January that the ceremony would start at 11:00 local time and that the bride would arrive at the Abbey by car rather than by carriage (the latter is the traditional transport for royal brides.) The route planned was along The Mall, through Horse Guards Parade, and down Whitehall to the abbey.

Beforehand motorists and pedestrians were warned about using the roads during the ceremony. The AA advised that motorists take alternate routes as Central London was virtually sealed off.

COST:

It was also announced that the costs of the wedding itself will be met by the Royal Family and the Middletons themselves, while the costs of security and transport will be covered by the British treasury. The couple have also asked that donations be made to charities in place of traditional wedding gifts; to that end, they established The Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund, which focuses on assisting charities such as the New Zealand Christchurch Earthquake Appeal, the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Royal Flying Doctor Service, and the Zoological Society of London.

The cost of the wedding was reportedly £20 million. The Australian newspaper Herald Sun estimated AU$32 million esd for security and AU$800,000 for flowers. Credible estimates of the cost of the special public holiday allowed for the wedding vary between £1.2 billion and £2.9 billion. The Government tourist authority VisitBritain predicts the wedding will trigger a tourism boom that will last several years, eventually pulling in an additional 4 million visitors, generating £2 billion for UK tourism.

TIMING:

At 6.00 am roads in and around the processional route were closed to traffic. From 8.15 am, the main congregation, governors-general, prime ministers of Commonwealth realms, and diplomats, all arrived at the Abbey. Princes William and Harry then left Clarence House at 10.10 am in a Bentley State Limousine, and arrived at 10.18 am, followed by representatives of foreign royal families, the Middleton family.

The Prince's own family (the Princess Royal, the Duke of York, Princess Beatrice of York, Princess Eugenie of York, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall). By tradition, the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were the last members of the Royal Family to leave Buckingham Palace, arriving at the Abbey for 10.48 am.

The bridal party then left the Goring Hotel in the former Number one State Rolls-Royce Phantom VI at 10.52 am,[60] in time for the service to begin at 11.00 am.

The service finished at 12.15 pm, after which the newly married couple travelled to Buckingham Palace in a procession consisting of other royal family members, the parents of the groom and bride, the best man and the bridesmaids.

At 1.25 pm, the couple appeared on the balcony at Buckingham Palace to watch a fly-past of an Avro Lancaster bomber, a Supermarine Spitfire fighter and a Hawker Hurricane fighter aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, followed by two Typhoons from RAF Coningsby and two Tornado GR4s from RAF Leuchars in a flat diamond formation.

Wedding Attire:

The bridal dress, designed by English designer Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, was made of satin and featured a lace applique bodice and skirt. The lace bodice design was hand-made using a technique that originated in Ireland in the 1820s called Carrickmacross, which involved cutting out the detailings of roses, thistles, daffodils and shamrocks and applying them to the ivory silk tulle individually.

These lace appliques were hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework, based at Hampton Court Palace. The veil was held in place by a Cartier Scroll Tiara, made in 1936 and lent to her by the Queen. It was purchased by the Queen's father, the Duke of York (subsequently King George VI) for his Duchess (later Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mother) three weeks before succeeding his brother Edward VIII (Duke of Windsor) as King. Princess Elizabeth (now the Queen) received the tiara from her mother on her 18th birthday.

In order to avoid her tiara falling off, as had happened for Lady Diana Spencer during her 1981 wedding to the Prince of Wales, Catherine's stylists "backcombed the top [of her hair] to create a foundation for the tiara to sit around, then did a tiny plait in the middle and sewed it on."
For the customary bridal themes of "Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue", Middleton's gown had the traditional Carrickmacross lace appointments (the "old"), diamond earrings given by her parents (the "new"), the Queen's tiara (the "borrowed"), and a blue ribbon sewn into the bodice (the "blue"). The shoes were also from Alexander McQueen and had a lace pattern matching the dress with appliques made by the Royal School of Needlework.

The bridal bouquet was designed by Shane Connolly, the bride's shield-shaped wired bouquet contained myrtle, Lily of the Valley, Sweet William and hyacinth.

Middleton's hair was styled in loose curls for the occasion by hair dresser James Pryce of the Richard Ward Salon. She received private make-up lessons from Arabella Preston and the entire bridal party received "makeup artistry assistance" from Bobbi Brown make-up artist Hannah Martin prior to the event, but ultimately Middleton did her own makeup for the occasion. The look was described as a "soft smokey eye" with pink lips and cheeks. Her nails were painted by manicurist Marina Sandoval in a mixture of two polishes: a "barely there pink" and a "sheer beige" to complement her skin tone and gown.

WEDDING RING:

The wedding ring of Catherine is made from Welsh gold. The ring was created by the royal warrant holder Wartski, a company with roots in Bangor, Gwynedd, north Wales. Since 1923, it has been a tradition in the royal family to use Welsh gold for the wedding ring of the bride.

This ring was made from a small amount of gold that had been kept in the royal vaults since it was presented to Queen Elizabeth II. It was mined from the Clogau Gold Mine in the mountains of North Wales, not far from Anglesey, where the couple live. The Clogau Gold Mine had its heyday in the late nineteenth century, was abandoned in the early twentieth century, was reopened in 1992 and finally closed in 1998. The Queen had "given a piece of the gold that has been in the family for many years to Prince William as a gift," a palace source stated. Prince William chose not to receive a wedding ring at the ceremony.

Title upon marriage:

On the morning of the wedding, William was created Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus, with Catherine becoming Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge after the wedding. This is in line with the practice of granting titles upon marriage to royal princes who did not already have one (for example, Prince Andrew, who was created Duke of York when he married in 1986). The titles also have symbolic meanings—Strathearn is close to St Andrews, Fife, in Scotland, where the couple met as students, and Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland. Combined with his existing titular link with Wales and his becoming Duke of Cambridge in England, his collective titles link William to each of the four countries in the United Kingdom.

Wedding cakes:

The wedding cake had a strong British floral theme, using elements of the Joseph Lambeth technique. It was an eight-tiered traditional fruit cake decorated with cream and white icing and 900 sugar paste flowers. The Lambeth technique is based on a style of decorating that was popular in England where chefs and decorators would use a lot of intricate piping to create 3-D scrollwork, leaves, flowers, and other decoration. The method is still popular today and is frequently used by wedding cake designers and decorators to create ornate wedding cakes.

The cake designer Fiona Cairns was chosen in February 2011 to create the wedding cake. Additionally, McVitie's created a groom's cake from chocolate biscuit for the reception at Buckingham Palace. The chocolate biscuit cake was made from a Royal Family recipe and was specially requested by Prince William.

Honeymoon:

Despite reports that the couple would leave for their honeymoon the day after their wedding, Prince William immediately returned to his work as a search-and-rescue pilot, and the couple did not depart until 10 days after their wedding. The location of the honeymoon was initially kept secret, with not even Catherine knowing where they would be heading. However, speculation ran rampant, fueled by the knowledge that she wanted to go someplace warm and her appearances shopping for warm-weather clothing.

Although the press speculated that they might be headed to locations such as South America, Jordan, and Kenya, the couple ultimately decided to honeymoon for 10 days on a secluded villa on a private island in the Seychelles. The length of the honeymoon was limited by William's RAF duties and the couple's official scheduled tour to Canada and the United States.

The Season Have Begun

Despite my "condition" right now, I couldn't sit still. Just did about an hour of job search. I've been on the internet for nearly 2 hours. Checking those loads of unread mails. I didn't read mails when I'm unwell even though I still surf the net for "world or local news". If I'm seriously ill, I'll abandon everything(internet). Health is more important than the internet! Haha...

I felt that I've rest quite enough. I've been having a "bad night sleep" for weeks & still counting. Why? I had a sleepless night nowadays. Even after consuming the medications, I couldn't have a proper sleep. Waking up in between the middle of the night & staring in the blank, dark ceileng. Nightmares sometimes do scares me off.  Just don't wanna think about it anymore.

However, I'm quite glad that I'm recovering as days goes by. About 30% more to recover as I've beeen recently infected by a flu after the sprained incident. However, I'm still feeling the pain. To top it all, flu symptoms seems to be developing for the 3rd day. Hopefully it shall recover soon. The season of flu has just begun! It can even be heard my neighbours coughing away when I'm at the living room typing the entry for my blog.

I spent about 15mins planning & writing this entry. Alright.. I'm still typing at a slower pace. Planning on what to write eventually takes time. Quite a short post. Goina end this for now. Probably on the next post, I'm planning to write or post the music videos that I enjoy listening throughout my childhood days,  teenage life till current time(now). That can only be possible if I could find the videos on Youtube.  Till the next time.

PS: I've been wanting to write a post in my dialect but I tend to procrastinate each time I try to do it. I've been writing in english throughout majority of the post. Seems that everything is in english. I need to brush up on my dialect too. I wanna balance out both languages. I'll try to do that the next time round. My next entry shall still be in the language understood worldwide. Ahah!

A Week Away From Internet

As the title goes, I stay away from the internet for nearly a week. One thing which I will feel "empty" if I don't surf the net that long. But I have to do it for my own good. Yup, I'm left with no choice but to heed by the doctor advice. Try to stay away from the computer until I recover or atleast feels better. Wrong posture of sitting or too much of straining can do harm to our health.

For a week, I've been feeling the pain on my nerves/veins. Improper sitting posture or over stretching that I normally do daily had affected the veins around my neck. For a while I felt "immobile". Moving around is definitely not easy for me.

While typing this entry, I'm not fully recovered but I can't help to stay away from the pc for a long period of time. One week is all I can endure. I still am feeling the pain when I tried to bent my neck when I'm standing  but ateast it's much better than day one when I had a sudden "attack" of "sprained neck". Don't mind my english. Let me try to put it properly. I sprained my neck out of a sudden in just a few seconds. Hmm, that sounds much better.

Today, I tried to check my mails. Quite a number of unread mails. I tried to read every single one of it but I stop once I felt a pain in my neck. It's been a week but it looks like I've not fully recovers. I still feels the pain when I tried to move my neck. Quite a number of tasks need to be postpone because of my health condition. Pending task, I'll get you done as quick as I could!

Not to mention my Facebook account which I've abandoned for months! I felt terrible abandoning it but I think it's the best for the meantime. No more online gaming for me. It's about time I stay focus on my main priority in life. I'll only check for notifications or messages if I happen to log in FB. Otherwise, I'll not log into my facebook any longer. Reducing the time spent on FB. I've made it!

One more thing, for more than a year, I've neglected or rather abandoned my messenger. No more chatting with friends over the cyber world. I've totally quit chatting on the messenger. Goodbye to all my "cyber friends". It's been more than a year since I had a conversation with all of them. But it's for my own good. Don't wanna be glued to the computer. I wanna use the time fruitfully.

Sprained the neck or twisted the neck is the same thing for me. Not sure of the right term used but the doctor said, "Oh... You twisted your neck. I see..."  So I assume it's "twisted".

I hope it shall be back to normal as soon as possible.  The pain is "disastrous" on day one and two. After  consuming the medication, I felt slightly better. Moving around is much more easier but I can't move faster like what I used to do. I do everything at a slower pace even for now. I must learn to sit up straight but I used to slouched. I know it's a bad habit for me but I'll try to correct my ways.  I wanna get well soon.

That's it for now. Till the next time. Have a great day readers :)

PS: It took me 2 days to finish up this entry since I do everything at a slower pace. I started to surf the net and wrote this entry yesterday night and continued today at 5pm++. It took me nearly an hour or maybe more to complete this entry. I know its slow unlike usual. Atleast I managed to comple this.ou

*A smile is all it takes to brighten up the day & even anyone's day.

So remember, keep smiling :)

A Year Older But 4Eva Young At Heart

This is what I had for my birthday. The cake for this year. "Dome" from Prima Deli bakery. It's all chocolate! You know my craze for chocolates & this cake have it all. Entire whole chocolates with chocolates fillings & creams. By eating one slice of it will make you sick due to the sweetness of the chocolates. Non-chocolate lovers, pls beware! Only choco-lover like me can enjoy the taste but I have to give in after eating one slice of it. Will continue finishing the rest another day. Obviously I shared this cake among the family. Will never able to have it all by myself. Bcos too much choco will make me sick. Overall, I enjoy consuming this cake.

Apart from the cake, I was given a treat at a restaurant @ Vivo yesterday. I'm thankful for whatever is being given and provided for me. A big thank you to those who made it possible & remembering my birthday. It's the thoughts that counts not the value of a $$$ or materials etc... Thanks to the few who remembered my birthday. All those wishes trully makes my day.

As the title goes, A year older but forever young at heart. That's my personal favourite quotation. There's no celebration as usual. A year older had made me to do a lot of thinking and growing up. It's different this year because I'm no longer can be considered a "teenager" although I still behaves like one! "I'm already entering the second year of an adult stage". I just make up my own terms or definition! I never heard anyone saying like that. Ahah!

Things that can make me happy is being with those(closed/ loved ones) who understands me &  make me feel and be myself. Honestly, I don't have many friends. But I felt so much at ease bcos I knew I have a few that really understands and be by my side to comfort me when I am at my lowest point in life. I know I'm not "popular" surrounded by a large circles of friends but even if I have let say one or two friends, I'm thankful enough cos I knew I will always feels comfortable being in their company.

I'm looking forward to meet them soon.

My final wish or hopes is definitely to have a career for survival. I'm afraid to demand much in life &  just hope to work harder as days goes by. To achieve something is definitely not easy. It requires hard works & determination. That's what I've been telling myself every moment. It's easier said than done. But I believe through hard work & determination, anything can possibly be achieve in the future. Tentitively, I tend to give up easily over the things I can't achieved but at the same time I will remind myself, NEVER TO GIVE UP. If I repeatedly say it daily, I believe it's going to be a strong "spirit" and a form of "encouragement" for me to carry on with my daily life.

Just like I keep telling myself to smile even in my worse day. For the start it may not work that easily but after a few tries, it works for me. By keep telling yourself to be happy, you will feel the happiness at the end of the day. Be a "Happy go lucky" person. Happiness will make us look younger. Remember that.... I emphasise myself on the positivity of thinking. Think positive & avoid negativity. Smile & you will feel happy at the end of the day. Alrite... I'm goina end the entry for today. Till the next time. Cherio!

PS: I'm a quiet and soft-spoken girl. Someone who's a little bit on the quiet side but I always wanna feel happy and cheerful. A Smile is all it takes to cheer up the day.

I'm so gonna ♥♥♥♥ it
(My favourite quotation)

Maher Zain First Acting Role

Maher Zain First Acting Role in "Pesantren and Rock & Roll"

Finally, I can watched Maher Zain's first acting debut in "Pesantren Rock & Roll". In Maher Zain's official facebook, he mentioned that he's acting debut will be broadcast on Monday, May 2 @ SCTV, one of Indonesian TV Channel. On the mentioned date, I tuned in to that channel, waited till the end but MZ never came out.

The next day, May 3rd, I tuned in again to SCTV, but there's still no sign of him in the scenes. But at the end of the bloopers after the drama ended, there's bloopers of MZ.

Finally the following day, May 4th, I waited in front of the TV to catch a glimpse of his acting. Just curious how his acting would turned out. I stayed through the night and managed to spot him on a few scenes. So, today I went to Youtube in hoping that someone would upload his acting and finally found it. I'll include the videos below and also the link to it just in case there's error in the embedded html code.

http://youtu.be/mUadMCzOkL4

http://youtu.be/IhxTd0wer2g

http://youtu.be/YKi-19Y5U-A

There's 4 parts of videos in total. Hopefully in times to come, the uploader will never removed the videos bcos once the video is remove due any reasons or another(copyright etc..), we no longer able to watch it anymore in future.

I really wanna watch his upcoming concert on 18th June 2011 at Singapore Expo. But simply couldn't afford the tickets. Any complimentary tickets for me? I'll definitely attend his concert if I get a pair of complimentary tickets! Just like a dream come true.... Hehe...

Yesterday he dropped by Singapore for a radio interview but I missed the live interview conducted by Hafeez Glamour. How I wish I was there. I hope to watch him live one day. Hopefully!

I'll end this for now. Till the next time. Stay cheerful at all times. Keep on smiling. (This is what I've been telling myself daily.) Hope the same for the rest too. Cherio readers![Wondering if there is any readers to this post but nvm! :-) ]

I Hate Being Treated This Way!

I'm not goina revealed with whom I had this kind of situation with.

It just happened and is goina happen again for sure. I simply hate the kind of treatment I'm getting from  "_______ ".   If there happened to be anything that's bothering you, can you please not vent your anger to me like that? You are behaving worse like a kid! Just for a small "mistake"(I can't say it's really a mistake but rather a "delay"), you are throwing tantrums on me. Pls take note, the delay did not refers to waiting time of being late but  "Delay" is just a term that I used to describe. It's more into something that I had forgotten and I'm being yelled at because of that. Can't really describe the situation.

Whatever happens along your way, pls STOP SHOUTING at me. I'm a normal human being with feelings. It cost you nothing to be polite ad say things out nicely. I bet you can do that but it seems that you purposely choose that kind of "attitude" to look "superior".  Everyone makes mistake but that's not the way to deal with it.

"Patience is virtue" but it seems that you don't have that in your inner-self.  Things can never always go your way! You are never 100% on the right path/situation. Accept it when someone correct your way bcos you're never always right. I hope you will change one day but that hope seems to be very difficult to be achive bcos you never ever tried. You never try to control your anger. Have you ever did once? I knew from the start, you never did. You seems to have lost the "sense of respect" towards others. You never care about my feelings and the rest.

In hoping that you will get control of your anger management seems just like a dream that will never come true! You never even realised how you have hurt me and the rest. You never will bcos you can't be bothered with it(suroundings). Lately, you have changed drastically. What causes the cahange? Only GOD knew it. If only I had the courage to say this in front of you but I never did. My feelings/ inner-self are too fragile that if I happened to say it out, I'll broke into tears.

How I wish I'm not a "fragile" girl. Any little things can break me. I can easily cried over little things. This is something that I wanna change. I wanna be a strong girl but it's hard for me. I do have temper just like everyone else did but I've been reminding myself on anger management. I try my best to control my anger especially in public. So, the chance of you(people) seeing me showing "temper" in public is very rare unless I'm in a bad mood but that had never happened so far. I'll just walk away if I'm angry & without talking to anyone. I personally think that walking away is better than showing "tantrums" or "yelling" in public. Save the embarrasement to yourself!

I know ________ will never knew I'm talking about _______ down here. As I said in the beginning, I'll not revealed the name of the person who hurt me unknowingly even though I bet _____ would have knew it. I HATE being yelled at especially in public or anywhere! ________, "Save the embarrasement to yourself!" I believe in what goes around, comes around and karma. Whatever hurt that this person had caused, one day, ______ will face the same situation like mine. So, if you don't wanna be embarrased in public, never do so otherwise.

That's it for now. I felt so much relieved after typing out what I went through today.

ps: * __________ (this underline blanks refers to the person whom I felt pissed off with. Hence, I'm not revealing the name.) *

It's Already May

Today's already the 1st day of May & the 5th month of the year. Hello MAY. Goodbye April! I'm goina miss April.

In just a matter of days, I'll be a year older. I'm sad to think about it. I wish to stay at my current age forever but I know that's impossible. Every living thing will age one day. No one will live forever. Whatever it is, I'm still young even though I'll be a year older in a few days time. I'm thankful to be able to live this far.

My hopes for this month is all my wishes shall come true. What my wishes are? I shall keep that as a secret! Bcos not everything can be shared to public. Hope for a smooth daily survival in life. Life is like a spinning wheel. It never went on as smooth as we expected. We'll have to go through a crooked path before being able to say " I made it!" or "I survive this battle!" Face the fact, life is never straight. Many obstacles awaits us in the future.

Throughout 2011, I said this to myself. I don't wanna be addicted to the social networking websites like facebook because that's the only account that I have in social networking. That's part of my resolution for 2011. Ahah! It's not only a resolution but I managed to keep to my "resolution". I'm no longer addicted to fb. I no longer played any games from fb. I made it! My resolutions completed. I did not check into fb daily like what I used to. If I'm busy, I'll abandon fb. Recently, I'm ill for nearly a week and I did not log into Facebook the whole week. I don't even bother to check in the news feed like what I used to do last year. I've minimize the time spent in FB. Yeah! I made it!

After I click the publish button for any post that I made, I'll straight away sign out of blogspot even before viewing my post that I've jst made. I'm going to do this again after ending this entry. I'll sign out straight away after clicking the "publish" button.

I shall end this for now. Till the next time. Goodbye & cherio!

♥♥21st♥♥ Final Week

This week marks something which I called the "final week of 21". As of next week, I'll be turning 22. I'm sad. I wanna be 21 forever or rather "I wanna be 17 forever". I've always said this of wanting to be 17 4eva instead of being 21..  17 is a youthful age. Ahaha....

I have a youthful look of a 17-year old(like real only, duh!) teenager. But my previous statement is true to a certain extent. Some people often mistaken me for being a student a lot of times. Yup it doesn't happens once or twice but it had happened quite a few times.

Something whisch I remembered from the past:

When I was working as a temporary customer service, customers often mistaken me for a 17-yr old teenager or student. Some even asked me, "Girl, did you just completed your "O" Level?" Yup they thought I just completed my secondary school education or high school. I just smiled at them, sometimes not even saying a word to their question. But If feel like answering, I'll honestly replied, "No, I'm not. I've completed my high school education a few years ago.(smile while replying).

When I was 19, I had the same question being asked by fellow colleagues. They often said I look so young and almost everyone at the office thought I was a student. Perhaps the next time anyone ask me this again, I'll just say "yup I'm 17 or I'm still a student". I don't really dressed up for work. Just a simple outfit, office wear without any makeup and even if I do put on, it'll just be a very light application. Maybe that could be the reason of often being mistaken.

I hope to be forever young at heart. When we're happy, I believe we'll look younger than our actual age.

21, please don't leave so soon. I've so much thing yet to be accomplish. Allow me to achieve something before you make a departure and left me to be one year older, 22. My birthday is close to mother's day. Mother's day usually falls on Sunday, first week of May? Am I right? Correct me if I'm wrong.  I landed on this earth on the first week of May. But thinking of Mother's Day makes me sad. I shall not drag on this any further.

I think I'll end this for now. I'll be back if there's anything to write about.

21st pls don't leave so soon........

Before It Explode

On my previous entry entitled "It Happens Again", I did mentioned that I search and hopefully that there's any good or pleasant music to be heard. I decided to pick on Bruno Mars music. Went through every music. His music and demos surprises me and a few captured my attention.

Here's a little bit of a continuation from the previous entry which I mentioned at the start. I forgot to mention one more song which I really like the first time I heard it. It captured my attention. What a great music! "Before It Explode". From the title itself already captured my attention. It's sure to be an explosion! There's quite a few demos version that's available. The first one that I heard is sung by Bruno himself, as solo. The second one sung by Alexandra Burke feat Bruno. The final one that I heard sung by Charice Pempengco. From what I know based on the news, this song is officially owned by Charice after Bruno gave it to her. 19-Apr-2011, this song official released date. I'll include the videos and links to the three versions of the songs below.

The Pain & Endurance

I skip blogging for the entire week starting 11th April till 17th April. Wasn't feeling well during the weekdays. 4days of bed rest is totally killing me. After I've recovered, my body starting to feel the pain from the outcome of what I called "too much rest". I wanna get up from bed but I simply couldn't do so. I was totally weak for 4days. Yup, I fell sick for 4 consecutive days. My head felt so heavy that what I do the whole day is just sleep. I even need help to get my food delivered to me in bed bcos I cannot even stand up for long and not strong enough to hold anything heavy. I couldn't even walk straight.

On the fourth day, I went to the doctor bcos I cannot tolerate the pain. My blood pressure is slightly low. That's cause all the dizziness. I had diarhea too. All the combined pain is killing me. I was totally weak for the first time in my life. I'm glad all the pain had gone. I've finally recovered. Except for the back pain that I felt from the 4-day bed rest.

I'm so thankful that I've recovered. Health is the most important thing in life. Thank you Allah for helping me to endure all the pain and making me well again... You are my saviour. I feel so blessed... Everything happens for a reason and nothing will happen if He don't allow it...

The pain which I need to endure for 4-days is something which I shall never forget. I'm thankful I can still continue life as normal just like before. That's Life! With all the pain and endurance that we overcome, it will make us stronger day by day. That's it for now. Till the next time. Next entry, I'll include the movie that I watched last night. I'll break today's entry into 2 parts.

It Happens Again

It's already past midnight. I'm looking at the digital clock in the monitor. It's 12:37am to be exact. The worst part is that I'm not sleeping again. Another Insomnia. Whateva!

I decided to keep myself "busy". Ahah! I log into my blog and decided to change the design and layout, etc... Keep changing several times until I finally decided to keep my blog simple and plain. I came across a cute baby pic from one of a celebrity facebook fan page few days ago and decided to use that as my background. Couldn't think of any better pic than that. Reason is I love cute babies. They are so adorable, cute and innocent. Looking at their cute smile simply makes my day. My heart melts. They are totally innocent.

The next thing, I decided to search more on some good/pleasant music to be heard. Suddenly I remembered Bruno Mars. Yup, this talented singer totally makes my day. By listening to his songs, I could say, I'm happy. I discovered a lot of his songs, "unreleased" demo that leaked out in youtube. I simply enjoy listening to his music. His voice is mesmerizing and pleasant to be heard. That's all I can say.

I kinda like another song from him. It was uploaded on Youtube, 28-10-2010. I'll include the video(lyrics only on screen) below. Simple lyrics. "Today My Life Begins"

I take another look at the clock. It's already 1:00am. I better end this entry and get myself ready to "dreamland". Though I couldn't sleep, I'll try to rest and close my eyes to relax. I'll force myself to sleep. I always do it! I'm ending this for now. Till the next entry if I'm in a mood to write. Have a good day everyone!

P:S. I've decided not to write anything that's too personal about my life. I'm just goina write about some random stuffs, maybe like the music that I like or any stuffs like that. But I'll avoid writing anything about family which I think is too personal to be shared openly to public.

Until today none of my friends knew I had a blog. I'm the only one who knew it and the public. I'll remain as anonymous whenever possible. One day, I might put up my pic here but I'll never knew when it shall happen. I'll just remain the way it is for now. Adios! (My longest post script ever! Ahaha :D

B.o.B - Nothin On You feat. Bruno Mars

Overall, I enjoy all his music and songs.
